Overview

Wrench Invoice is an offline-first invoicing app designed for small automotive repair shops. Your privacy is simple: your data stays on your device.

Data Storage

All data you enter — client names, phone numbers, vehicle information, invoices, and parts — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. None of this data is transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any servers.

Device Permissions

• Microphone & Speech Recognition: Used solely for voice-to-invoice dictation. Audio is processed on-device by Apple's SpeechAnalyzer framework and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Camera: Used solely for scanning VIN barcodes and receipts via Apple's VisionKit framework. Images are processed on-device in real time and are never saved or transmitted.

Third-Party Services

Wrench Invoice makes a single external network request when you use the VIN scanner:

• The scanned 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is sent to the NHTSA vPIC API, a free public service operated by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, to look up the vehicle's year, make, and model. No personal information is included in this request.

No other network requests are made. There are no analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services of any kind.

Data Sharing

When you share an invoice as a PDF via the iOS share sheet, you control where it goes (Messages, Mail, AirDrop, etc.). We have no visibility into or control over shared invoices.

Data Collection

We do not collect, process, or have access to any of your data. There is no account creation, no cloud sync, and no telemetry.

Children's Privacy

Wrench Invoice is a business tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
